Rendezvous Itinerary

Dear Beneteau Owner:

**Saturday July 25th Pre Rendezvous Party “Be our Guest”
Flotilla planning at SD Summer Boat Show-Sheraton Hotel on Harbor Island at the Beneteau display. Join us; meet new friends & Learn about sailing to Catalina. (Call SW for show tickets) 619-224-7784. Refreshments will be served; this has become the best way to get in the Rendezvous Spirit!

Thursday August 6th
6AM Departure, Flotilla from San Diego, Ballast Point. All are welcome, call to join us! Sailing with up to 20 other boats is Fun and Safe! Communicate on VHF channel 72

6:30 PM Welcome Dinner Registration (At West Bandstand) Pizza, Salad, Beer, Wine & Soda provided. Mellow into the Island Time.

9:00 PM Movie on the Beach “Movie to be announced” (Laughter is the best medicine!)

Friday August 7th
8:30AM Raft up Breakfast Rolls, Danish, Juice and Coffee on Beneteau Host Boat. Dingy on over!

9:00-Noon Hummer Tours (Sign-up required)

1:00-4:00 PM Hummer Tours  (continued)

6:00-6:45 PM Beach Bingo at Beneteau compound-Great Prizes!

6:00-to 8:30 PM Registration-Reception & Welcome Party Beach BBQ, We provide utensils, plates & side dishes. Bring a dessert to share, Prizes awarded for the most Creative, Delicious, and most unique Dessert Treat! (Bring something to grill on HUGE BBQ Grill for you and your crew)-Hors D’Oevres & Drinks will be provided- Music 7-10 PM- FUN, FUN, FUN! Meet New Sailing Friends, Share Adventure Tales!

Saturday August 8th
8:30-9:30 “Two Harbors Continental Breakfast” Coffee, Juice, and Muffins on the beach.
9:AM-Noon-Hummer Tours This is a popular and inexpensive activity with limited seating, so be sure to get signed up early for the best choice of times. See the Backcountry, Buffalo, and stunning Island views. (Note: Please tip the Driver)

Seminars: Special Presentations
9:30-10:00AM "Beneteau Updates" - Beneteau Representatives & Southwestern’s Service Team discuss “What’s new with Beneteau” Mike Lechelop and Barrett Canfield
10:00AM-Noon-Breakout sessions (on vendor row-each session approx 25 min and run 4x)
*Boatswain’s Locker - Yanmar/Diesel Maintenance
*San Diego Marine Exchange - New Products
*U S Spars - Rigging / Julian Crisp
*Sail Maker - “Latest Sail Shaping Techniques-In Mast Furling.”
*Battery Maintenance - “Latest Battery Technology”

Noon-1:30PM Lunch BBQ-Burgers & Hot Dogs Grilled by Southwestern staff

1:00-4:00 PM-Hummer Tours

2-5PM “Ship Rock Sailing” Sail our New Demo boats and yours! Professional Photographer scheduled. Photo Op Picture our Boat under sail!

6-6:45PM Beach Bingo. Bar is open! Music is playing. Come discuss your sailing adventures of the day.

6:30-9:00PM “Shipwrecked” Themed Dinner. Competition for best Ship Wrecked Survivors Prizes for Best Couple and Best Kid’s Outfit. Island Feast Buffet-(Best food on the Island and plenty of it!) Dance to the Music into the night!

Sunday August 9th
Lift anchor, Sail off at your leisure. Safe voyage home! (Continue decompression)
IMPORTANT:

1. You are responsible for Paying for Your Own Mooring
2. Moorings Available on First-Come, First Serve Basis Only

          Beneteau owners sail the 2008 Beneteau 46

The Brand New Beneteau 57 "Lea" sails toward the fleet of 49's, 523's, 57's, 46's, &423's "Lea" was commissioned by Southwestern and delivered just 2 days before the rendezvous!

We will leave San Diego early Thursday morning to get smooth seas and a better mooring selection(moorings are first come-first served).We will repeat some of the activities from the past and we have a few new surprises as well. Spaces are limited, so please register as early as possible. All submitted sign up forms will be confirmed by phone or email within 2 weeks. This event has been a real treat for our clients, staff and families and we thank all of you for your past attendance. Look forward to seeing you in Catalina this summer! Questions? Wow!   What an event! I hope you made it last year, but if not, here is just a sampling of the FUN!

P.S.   We will have the annual Rendezvous Flotilla Pre-party at the San Diego Boat Show (see pic below) time and date to be announced soon.  This is the best opportunity to meet the people who you will be sailing up to Catalina next to and also party a bit with the Southwestern team aboard the newest Beneteau models at the show. (hint hint ,nudge nudge ,wink wink) We will have boat show tickets to any owner and friends who can make it.
